Fine Jewellery Collection 2019 - 2020
Number 6
750 thousandths yellow gold, 750 thousandths white gold, 925 thousandths silver elevated to majesty, powerful sets, shield jewels… Marc Deloche dedicates his sixth jewellery collection to urban and contemporary Amazons.
The inspiration. "In Greek mythology, the Amazons formed a people of warriors, determined and strong," explains the designer. "Today, women have to fight for everything. A necklace, a ring, a set of jewellery can be likened to armour and allow one to feel more conquering. Wearing jewellery is a way of protecting oneself from adversity. These objects are a sign of recognition, they convey messages. The design of this number 6 collection is not insignificant, the volume of the pieces is strongly noticeable."
Composed of 9 models, this precious and architecturally structured set revolves around four mythological figures: Lysippé, Thalestris, Antiope and Penthésilée.
LYSIPPÉ
This Amazon aroused the wrath of Aphrodite through her contempt for marriage and her love of war. Like a golden belt protecting the throat, Lysippé is a modular piece containing three jewels within it. Namely a powerful choker where the yellow metal is paired with silver spheres highlighted by diamond-set clasps. Within the same material, a cuff appears that transforms the wrist into a tour de force. At the extremities of Lysippé, two earrings hang, fashioned like hollowed-out shields that snap in the wind. Finally, a ball ring protects the phalanx with a gold shell, simply set with a line of diamonds.

THALESTRIS
The queen of the Amazons asked Alexander to give her a child whose blood would blend that of the strongest of women with that of the most powerful of men. Marc Deloche projected this "masculine feminine" onto a spectacular breastplate where circles of yellow gold and silver form a collar of polished metal whose multiple reflections bring an otherworldly radiance to the face. Thalestris is worn with a fitting ring where the volumes are exalted by the two-tone nature of the materials: a scattering of solar circles laid upon a silver body.

Silver weight: 41.6 g

ANTIOPE
The daughter of Ares married the king of Athens, Theseus. Legend has it that Antiope triggered the Attic War between the Amazons and the Greeks when her husband wished to leave her for Phaedra. Stripped of all embellishments, this sleek set is distinguished by its geometric lines. A simple gold circle, terminated by two hard stone balls in tiger's eye, holds two open medallions bearing at their centre two brown gems with golden-bronze accents. The fall of the metal on the throat is perfect. As for the Antiope ring, it combines the rectangular form of a double gold leaf with the roundness of a tiger's eye sphere for a singular and powerful effect.

PENTHÉSILÉE
Driven by her love of combat, Penthésilée threw herself headlong into the Trojan War. In homage to this warlike queen, Marc Deloche created a set of remarkable balance. Penthésilée brings to life a wide choker cut from a single silver plate that opens onto five concave discs in incised 750 thousandths yellow gold. What emerges is a blazing path, traced between the breasts, like a precious pennant of victory. A pair of clips, worked in the same manner, in golden tribute, adorns the earlobes with an ornament as feminine as it is powerful.
