For his seventh jewellery collection, Marc Deloche animates his jewels with a kinetic soul.
The inspiration. "I was researching textiles for the interior of a house I am currently building when I came across a batch of 1970s upholstery fabrics," explains Marc Deloche. "These entanglements of geometric shapes, which are of great richness, reminded me of the kinetic art of Victor Vasarely. I wanted to draw inspiration from them for the 2020-2021 theme of my jewellery collection, with a focus on cuffs."
Divided into five families, Numéro 7 showcases eleven powerful jewels, in the image of the unique style developed by the Toulouse-based designer.
GEOMETRIC
By combining 750 thousandths yellow gold and 750 thousandths white gold with 925 thousandths silver, Marc Deloche gives a new dimension to squares. Lively and repetitive, these motifs seem to be in motion on the skin, illuminating it in a new light. Spectacular, the two-row silver cuff is adorned, at its centre, with five yellow gold loops finely set with a cluster of diamonds. Its double, conceived in negative, becomes a ring in 750 thousandths yellow gold encircled by 750 thousandths white gold paved with brilliant-cut diamonds. It patterns the phalanx with a particular brilliance.

HYPNOTIC
An oval link, shaped in full volume, gives form to two jewels as sumptuous as they are sensual. The first is a cuff in which threads of 750 thousandths yellow gold and 925 thousandths silver are arranged so as to form a precious knit, dotted here and there with stormy-coloured chalcedony cabochons and a shower of white diamonds. The second is a pair of drop earrings where two gold links and three chalcedony balls, cloudy and diamond-set, swirl in the wind.

ELLIPTICAL
Crafted flat to interweave endlessly, the ribbons of 925 thousandths silver, 750 thousandths rose gold and 750 thousandths white gold of the Elliptique set exude an almost combative force. The wide bracelet, whose centre features two deep red coral cabochons, displays a sculptural line that galvanises the wrist. It is worn with a pair of long earrings in two-tone 750 thousandths gold set with coral, where stylised figures of eight can be discerned, the number of happiness and luck.

LACONIC
Three threads of 750 thousandths gold and a hint of diamonds, Laconique goes straight to the essentials: a pure and sleek design. Here is a two-tone double cuff where a triple line of gold is held by small diamond-set discs. Following the same movement, Laconique lends itself to a pair of earrings whose flow is reminiscent of a waterfall that might have been stylised in the 1970s. These jewels are accompanied by a ring in two-tone 750 thousandths gold, of bandeau form, which elegantly adorns the finger.

CONCENTRIC
Seen in profile, this assembly of gold circles is reminiscent of the top of certain New York skyscrapers. Seen from the front, it seems to accumulate the circles generated on the surface of water by ricochets. Concentrique is more than a jewel, it is an object one wishes to touch. Architectural, this 750 thousandths gold pendant, set with a rail of diamonds and two blue sapphire cabochons, is worn on a chain with large irregular links. Mounted as a ring, its volume astonishes both the eye and the hand.
