Fine Jewellery Collection 2017 - 2018
Number 4
XXL volumes, variable geometry pieces, the omnipresence of two-tone materials…
For his fourth jewellery collection, Marc Deloche transforms jewels into figures of style. Welcome to the kingdom of gold-as-metaphor.
"It all started with an oblong shape that I wanted to stretch to the maximum," explains Marc Deloche. "The result was a little strange, a little irregular, but I liked it. I wanted to make it the strong link of this collection with more deconstructed models, sometimes even disproportionate. The important thing was also to surprise by creating transformable jewels that offer women different ways of wearing them."
Composed of twenty-two models, collection number 4 is expressed in four movements: Hyperboles, Anacoluthe, Litote and Anaphore.
HYPERBOLES 1/2
Here is a figure of exaggeration. A simple thread of 750 thousandths yellow gold, entirely hand-crafted, stretched to the point of losing reason, a pinch serving as a clasp — these Hyperboles earrings make the face radiate with their oversized brilliance. Combined with irregular rounds and squares, this same link lends itself to a long sautoir in three golds with multiple effects: it can be worn as a single strand, a double strand, support a giant pendant in rutile quartz of 36.5 carats, or transform into tinkling bracelets. Accumulated on the finger, these gold rings form a ring of variable geometry.

ANACOLUTHE
In an anacoluthe, there is a break in the syntactic construction of a sentence. Marc Deloche's jewellery Anacoluthe consists of a lasso of more than one metre in length set with a myriad of quarter-moon shapes in 750 thousandths yellow gold and 750 thousandths white gold which, abruptly, turn back on themselves, invert, changing the shape and path of the necklace. The unexpected also arises in this choker. It becomes, in the turn of a hand, a single earring, at once present and supple. It is accompanied by a pair of Anacoluthe cuffs where the quarter-moon motifs take on, once again, another design.

LITOTE 1/2
It is an art, that of knowing how to express the most by saying the least. 750 thousandths gold and a few grams of hard stones are sufficient to give birth to these two Litote rings. The first displays a convex ball of malachite on an architectural structure while the second plays its opposite with a flat surface of coral and turquoise. As for the Litote necklace, no one knows at first glance that it can transform into an ultra-geometric earring motif.

ANAPHORE 1/2
What better than an anaphora to hammer home an idea? The jeweller repeats the same spiral of brushed and polished 750 thousandths gold on pairs of giant hoop earrings which gather in their calyx a pistil of turquoise. On a similar principle, the yellow metal serpentines along the arm like a precious spring whose extremities are adorned with lapis lazuli beads. As for the Anaphore necklace, it halos the neck with a triple row of 750 thousandths gold, simply enlivened by turquoise balls. As a single drop earring, Anaphore takes on the two colours of 750 thousandths gold, yellow and white, worked on an infinity of circles. In rigid version, this figure of style gives rise to an explosion of concentric motifs: alternating 750 thousandths yellow gold and 750 thousandths white gold on a spectacular cuff and ring.
