Lysippé

This Amazon warrior incurred the wrath of Aphrodite with her contempt for marriage and her love of war. Lysippos is a modular piece which encloses three stones at its heart, like some kind of protective belt of gold around the neck. The piece can be worn either as a choker necklace where the yellow metal is paired with spheres of silver that are highlighted by brilliant links, or as a bracelet that transforms the wrist into a genuine tour de force. On the ends of Lysippos, there are two earrings in the form of hollow shields which chime with the movement of the wind. Finally, a round ring uses a golden shell to protect the phalanx, and is finely inlaid with a line of diamonds.

Thalestris

The queen of the Amazons asked Alexander to have a child whose blood would combine the strongest among women with the strongest among men. Marc Deloche has transformed this «masculine/feminine» into a spectacular breastplate that uses circles of yellow gold and silver to create a ring of polished metal whose myriad facets and reflections illuminate the face. Thalestris is paired with a ring where the volumes are sublimed through the mix two different coloured materials: a sprinkling of setting suns on a silver body.

Antiope

She was the daughter or Aries and wife of King Theseus of Athens. Legend has it that Antiope started the first Attic war between the Amazons and the Greeks when her husband wanted to leave her for Phaedra. Free from all embellishments, this elegant piece stands out thanks to its pure geometric lines. The simple gold circle, whose ends are marked by two tiger’s eye stones, is the frame for two magnificent open medallions. In the centre of these medallions sit two stunning, golden-brown gems. The metal falls perfectly around the neck. As for the Antiope ring, it unites the rectangular shape of two plates of gold with the round perfection of a tiger’s eye for a unique and powerful effect.

Penthésilée

Pushed by love into combat, Penthesilea threw herself completely into the Trojan war. En hommage to this warrior queen, Marc Deloche created a piece of jewellery with remarkable balance. The story of Penthesilea gave life to a wide choker necklace made from a single plate of silver from which hang five concave disks in engraved yellow gold. They cut a distinct path down between the breasts, like a striking symbol of victory. It has been paired with clip earrings that have been worked in the same way. In golden obol, they adorn the ears with a form that is as feminine as it is strong.
